Mental Health Services in Arlington

Social Services Assistance in Fairfax County

Fairfax County Human Services
Fairfax County’s Human Services 222 number allows you to access information about human services information and resources in the area with one call. Callers are connected to social services specialists who can connect individuals to everything from securing a place to sleep to assistance getting electricity turned back on. Call 703-222-0880 for assistance navigating the county’s human services system.

Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board
The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Service Board provides services for people of all ages who have mental illness, substance abuse disorders, and/or developmental disabilities. Visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov or call 703-324-7000.

Crisis Line of Central Virginia
Crisis Line of Central Virginia offers a 24-hour suicide, crisis, and information and referral hotline. Staffed by trained volunteers and crisis line workers, this free service provides individuals with problem-solving skills and information regarding community resources. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is an intensive program and takes place in a group setting, 3 days a week for 8-9 weeks. Groups meet for 3-hour sessions (total of 9 hours per week). Our program is specifically designed this way for those individuals who may be at risk for engaging in self-destructive and/or risk-taking behavior that may compromise their ability to stay safe, sober and/or meet their court requirements.
In addition to the substance abuse focus of our group, the IOP also offers individual counseling and family counseling when needed. Visit [email protected] or call 804-343-1777.

National Alliance on Mental Illness of Virginia

The Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance (SAARA)

United Way

represents Community Services Boards and Behavioral Health Authorities regarding federal and state public policy, regulations, and other issues impacting behavioral health and developmental services.
