Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia (RPSV). We rely on your extra hands, your sweat equity, and your skills-based volunteer efforts to help us as we seek to serve ~9,000 adults with mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness issues in the Northern Virginia region each year.

Please complete the following application to make sure we place you in the perfect position to ensure you get the most out of your volunteer experience while RPSV maximizes your efforts to help those we serve.

Please note, all volunteers who work directly with our participants must undergo a secure background check by our Charter. The background checks are private and are needed to ensure all participants, volunteers, and staff are in a safe environment. There is no cost to you for the background investigations. Volunteers who are completing virtual volunteer projects do not require background checks because they are not directly interacting with participants.

Marketing & Admin Volunteer

Help Adults with Mental Health, Substance Use, & Homelessness Issues — Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia (RPSV) is a nonprofit that supports adults across Northern Virginia. The organization operates five in-person Recovery Centers that offer programs daily. RPSV is looking for volunteers interested in going to the centers and helping with the day-to-day operation (e.g., answering phones, greetings guests, etc.) You can choose the location of your choice (Annandale, Arlington, Merrifield, Reston, and South County Alexandria). This is a rewarding and fulfilling experience as you help people directly and make an impact!

PRS's seeking hours — Are you seeking to get your PRS hours? RPSV has in-person opportunities at our centers. Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia (RPSV) is a nonprofit that supports adults across Northern Virginia. The organization operates five in-person Recovery Centers that offer programs daily. RPSV is looking for volunteers interested in going to the centers and helping with the day-to-day operation (e.g., answering phones, greetings guests, etc.) You can choose the location of your choice (Annandale, Arlington, Merrifield, Reston, and South County Alexandria). Help us do in-person outreach in the community to help those in need! — RPSV seeks guerilla marketers who are willing to do outreach in the community, sharing news about our programs and services directly with those we serve (adults with mental health, substance use, and homelessness issues) and with the greater community (e.g., churches, businesses). Hand out flyers, answer questions, help individuals connect to the valuable services we provide! You can select the community you are interested in working in (e.g., Annandale, Arlington, Merrifield, Reston, or South County Alexandria).

Social Media and Audience Growth Managers - Influencers — Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia (RPSV) supports adults with mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness issues in Northern Virginia. We are seeking volunteer social media audience growth managers/influencers to help us increase our footprint on Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms. Graphic and video design skills welcome.

Manage our virtual 5k or create a virtual micro-event — Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia (RPSV) supports adults with mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness issues in Northern Virginia. We are seeking volunteer special events managers and fundraisers to help manage a 5K walk and/or to develop virtual events to raise needed funds to support those we serve.

Build our TikTok channel! — I want to create a TikTok channel that focuses on mental health, substance use, and homelessness. However, I have little to no knowledge of the platform and how to make stories go viral. Help empower people in need across Northern Virginia but using your skills to help us raise awareness!

Virtual assistant on-the-job training — Have you ever wondered how it feels to work in a nonprofit organization on a daily basis? Nonprofit professionals wear many hats, from marketing to HR and everything in between. RPSV has an opportunity for a few people to be paired up with leadership staff. These individuals will be assigned a variety of duties depending on the needs of the day (per your work schedule). For example, our marketing person needs the assistance of someone who is comfortable making outreach calls to area businesses on behalf of the organization. Another opportunity would be writing a narrative for a letter, newsletter, or a grant. Every day there's something new and exciting to do. We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm and a willingness to try new experiences. The best part is, everything you help us with you can put on your resume as on-the-job training! It's a great ROI.
